Three programs, one purpose: youth empowerment
-

One-to-one program
Individualized Care for Complex Needs
Our 1:1 program is a single-bed residential service providing 24/7 intensive support for youth experiencing significant mental health and behavioural challenges. With one staff member dedicated to one young person at all times, this program offers a highly individualized, stable, and responsive care environment. The single-bed setting ensures maximum consistency and emotional safety, allowing youth the space to stabilize, build trusting relationships, and begin their healing journey with the full support of a trauma-informed team.
-

Semi-independent Program
Building Skills for Independent Adulthood
This program supports youth who are transitioning from care into adulthood. In a supportive, semi-independent living environment, young people receive guidance and mentorship while learning essential life skills such as budgeting, cooking, time management, and navigating adult systems. Our goal is to empower each youth with the tools, confidence, and support network they need to thrive as independent, capable young adults.
-

Five-bed group home
Meeting Youth Where They’re At – Supporting Growth and Future Goals
Our five-bed group home offers a supportive and structured environment where youth are met with compassion, respect, and a deep commitment to understanding their individual needs and circumstances. We work alongside each young person to support them in identifying their own goals and building a pathway toward their vision for the future—whether that includes re-engaging with education, developing life skills, strengthening relationships, or pursuing personal growth.
With a foundation in trauma-informed and culturally safe care, this program emphasizes emotional regulation, safety, and skill-building within a community living setting. Youth are empowered to participate in daily routines, care planning, and decision-making at their own pace, with staff supporting them to take meaningful steps toward independence and well-being.

Our Commitment to Cultural Safety
Coastal Mountain Child and Youth Services Ltd. is deeply committed to creating culturally safe spaces for Indigenous children and youth. We honor the unceded territories of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the Quw’utsun (Cowichan) people, whose lands we are privileged to live and work on.
We collaborate with Indigenous communities, Elders, and cultural leaders to ensure youth can connect—or reconnect—with their identities, families, and traditional ways of knowing. Cultural programming, land-based activities, and access to spiritual support are embedded across all of our services.
Our Approach: Trauma-Informed & Strengths-Based
Everything we do is rooted in a trauma-informed and strengths-based philosophy. We understand that trauma can impact behavior, relationships, and development—and we respond with empathy, structure, and unconditional positive regard.
At Coastal Mountain Child and Youth Services Ltd., we:
Focus on safety, choice, and empowerment
Build consistent, trusting relationships
Recognize and build on each youth’s strengths and capacities
Create healing environments that foster resilience and hope
